2017 VGMA NOMINATIONS OUT SHATA WALE DROPPED
I aint trying to start a conspiracy but Shatta Wale did’nt make it to the 2017 VGMA Nomination List. Weired or not? Well one thing for sure, the fans of Shatta Wale are definitely not going to be pleased with this but what can they do?
The 18th edition of the Awards is tentatively scheduled for April, 2017 and the ‘Kakai’ hitmaker is sure to miss out again, irrespective of how ‘big’ he was in the year under consideration, releasing several hit songs and topping major music charts across the country.
This means that, once again, the ‘Kakai’ singer would have to watch on the stands as other artists mount the podium to perform and pick awards at the 2017 VGMA, the most prestigious music awards in Ghana.
The PRO of Charter House George Quaye in an interview with Accra FM last year prior to the Awards told the host DJ Premiere that ” Charterhouse has never had any intentions of excluding Shatta Wale, who claims he released about 90 songs in 2015, from the award ceremony, but the his behaviour leaves them with no choice.
“We never said anywhere that we will not nominate him, but the artiste said we should not nominate him, so, why are you forcing us to nominate him?” he asked, again.
Shatta Wale and his management last year started a process to reconcile with the Organizers but attempts to finalize the reconciliatory process failed since Organizers of the Awards (Charter House) on several occasions failed to honour the invitation.
The success of the Ghana Music Awards organized every year by Charterhouse has never been without controversies. Year in year out, there has been lots of controversies surrounding it right from the day Nomination List is out to the Award show itself.
Some of can’t wait to see what this year’s own has to offer especially when it comes to the organization of the Award Show itself. The Red carpet will definitely be a place to check out.
Anyways, enough of all that, lets dive into the 2017 Ghana Music Awards Nomination List and see who got nominated for what!
