Sportsmail has reached out to Facebook – which owns Instagram – for remark.

The tech agency had eliminated feedback despatched to Sterling in May after City’s Champions League semi-final victory over PSG, and mentioned the abuse was ‘unacceptable’ and vowed to toughen up on culprits.
