Jay-Z and Beyonce brought their On The Run II tour to Seattle on Thursday night (October 4), and the liberal and well off couple continued on their giving streak. All through the tour, Jay-Z and Beyonce have been granting secondary school seniors the country over with $100,000 grants. Eleven teenagers were granted altogether, however the last beneficiary in Seattle was somewhat more exceptional than others.
The News Tribute reported that 17-year-old Khairi Perry was awarded the $100,000 from the BeyGood and Shawn Carter Foundations. “It’s mind-boggling,” he told the publication. “All my focus is on graduating high school and getting into college and pursuing my dream. I was lost in the moment until my name was called.” Perry has spent the last four years bouncing between nomadic homeless life and places provided by those close to him. Most of the time has been spent living in motels, shelters, and with friends or family. “Currently, I’m living with friends,” he admitted. At one point, Perry and his family lived in a car.
“Even when I got older and started to understand my situation, I still didn’t ask questions because I figured no one could answer them,” Perry told the Federal Way Mirror. “I would try to find an answer myself. When that was a dead end, it was school and sports that were there for me.”
They are always up to something , ain’t they?….like Jay Z would say in a song ” On to the next one” . This couple never ceases to amaze me one bit. There’s always some good news coming from their side and this one, w absolutely love it.
