Rick Ross Disses Birdman On “Idols Become Rivals”
Rick Ross seems pretty pissed about how Birdman has been treating his people.
Rick Ross’ new album Rather You Than Me leaked online today and one of the tracks on the album is directly aimed at Cash Money’s boss, Birdman. The track is called “Idols Become Rivals” and Ross does not hold back anything as he expresses his disgust with Birdman on how he has been treating his people. From BG to Juvenile to Lil Wayne and even ends with talking about how DJ Khaled was mistreated.
The track actually sounds really good as Ross is not so much rapping but telling a story. Here are some of the key excerpts from the track.
“Catholic record label, niggas getting raped boy.
Look into your eyes before I say goodnight, and pray that Mannie Fresh’ll get to see the light.
You would give us self-esteem and motivate our drive, but was in our pocket by the time we count to five.
I watched this whole debacle so I’m part to blame, one last request, can all producers please get paid?”
He also talks at the end of the track, finishing up by saying,
“Can’t believe this shit homie. Still love you n*gga. But how the fuck you touch half a billion n*gga, and your team starving n*gga? You on an island n*gga. You
came to my city my n*gga. I let you in my city n*gga. What hurt me most is how you did my brother Khaled nigga. Khaled was loyal to you n*gga…. You put my n*gga in a hole homie. I don’t feel you for that my n*gga.”
